Ann will contact other schools and send directions for this. Update: Katahdin is sending several teachers. Greenville may send one. I had sent info, but some were already attending Janet’s talk in Augusta. I have also sent info to Steve Pound, the superintendent, about NWP.
Focus on the commissioner for Adm. for Dine and Discuss – Still no word from Augusta.
Technology D and D: Ann will forward information to Chris. As you know this was cancelled due to lack of registration. As a note - the teachers in Union #113 hope that there is another one scheduled right away and felt that it was very needed. Would we be better off to look at a half or full day workshop for them as opposed to a dine and discuss after school?
Janelle’s course – Ann will follow up with her as to how people sign up. I spoke with Janelle and she does not have enough to run it as a University course as of right now. Are the people who are interested in your districts looking for undergraduate credit or just as a course to take? Please try to get that info prior to our meeting next week and we will work with Janelle either way.
Peter Fisher will be the Web Master. Peter will purchase software and we will add a line in the budget.
Needs Survey:
NWP will purchase copies of books for discussions.
Jim suggested using ATM or web site for book discussions. Jeff suggested that people enjoy meeting with each other when they have the discussions. Chris offered that maybe one can be designed with all the elements.
Next meeting: Within districts, check surveys again and be prepared to discuss major points. Ann will compile a master list from all districts.
Other:
Jane D. reported that the State has designed a course and a text for Ed techs to prepare for the Para professional certification test.
Tom Lafavore in SAD 31 – other districts may send reps – 2 per district. Please send numbers to Cathy Menard. November 24 and 25.
Project Story Boost is up and running.
Host school will take pictures and do a small write up whenever they host a particular event.
Maine Learns at SAD 67 on October 24th from 2:30 to 5:30 at EPB to train teachers. Other districts are invited to visit this training.
Chris reported on www.ratemyteacher.com and said that we might want to check these up.
