Coordinator’s Report:

ü      Superintendent’s Letter – A letter was sent to all NWP superintendents to inform them of what we are doing at the NWP.

ü      University Contacted – A letter was sent to Dean Cobb regarding our hopes that the University would send a liaison to our meetings. As of today, Dec 2nd, I have not heard from the university. I have also sent an email notifying him that we will not be at Region III, but at Dunloggin.

ü      Budget – Budget was approved.

ü      Janet Allen – Attached is the paper to say people who were at Janet Allen so that you can type in the names of the attendees.

ü      POP – I am still waiting to hear from them. I will submit report for December to them. We need to look at best format to gather info re: attendees. I am afraid that we will miss things that we should report on like “Project Story Boost”.

Update on current projects:

ü      Fred’s Course is going well. I will get to it this week on Dec 4th at Opal Myrick Elementary School.

ü      Janelle’s course was due to start. Laura, can you give us an update on December 11th?

ü      Mike reported that Story Boost went well.

ü      Bring titles of books that you want to order for the professional library.

Survey Discussion:

Major points of emphasis would appear to be:

ü      Communication through a newsletter. I think it would be wise to start small and grow.

ü      Training in Math and Science assessment from MMSA

ü      Janet Allen follow-up with writing in March

ü      Critical thinking in the spring – SAD 31 can report on their workshop.

ü      Transitioning middle level students to high school – thoughts on this??? I have spoken with Gert Nesin at the University and she would be willing to do a half day workshop on Transitioning Middle School Students to High School. I thought that early march might be good and then schools could develop a plan to help with the transition process.

ü      Portfolio development

ü      Lots of technology interest, but we really need to have a technology contact in each district. Please bring names and email addresses of people in your districts that could, should, and would be ones that we would contact about possible offerings. I am more than willing to make the contacts, but need an easy way to communicate. I think we need to provide a couple of offerings in more than one school in the partnership and then go from there.

December 11th – Dunloggin – Kathy McAvoy facilitator – 10:30 to 1:30. Directions to Dunloggin: If you are coming from Lincoln, look for the Village of Lee sign and a white building on the right that is a hairdressers shop. Take the immediate right after the shop. The name of the road is either the Dam Road or the Dump Road. Go straight past the dump and look for a sign that says Dunloggin.

If you are coming from Winn, take the road to Lee. Turn onto Rt. 6 at the stop light in town. Look for flea market tables and take the immediate left onto the Dam or Dump Road. Go straight past the dump and look for a sign that says Dunloggin. If still confused, ask directions in town or at the academy.
