Minutes – September 11, 2003

Coordinator’s Report:
Ann reported on the process of Janet Allen – Info came on Janet Allen and has been sent out to the districts. Please have numbers attending by October 9th so that I can proceed with the arrangements. We are booked at the Parish Center as of now. Will wait to send out fliers once we have a definite count for our own people. Books for Janet Allen have been ordered through Wally.
Web page master – Has been advertised. No meeting on October 7th. Will present report at October 9th meeting.
Needs survey for all NWP employees – Has been distributed to all school systems. These were to be collated and brought to the October 9th meeting.
Janelle Burgoyne – Can we offer credit for some of the participants? Janelle is checking with the University on this. There needs to be a minimum of 8 enrolled for credit to be offered.
Technology Dine and Discuss
SAD 41 will host the first one from 3:30 to 5:30 – Tuesday – October 28th – at Penquis Valley School in Milo – a light lunch will be served.
An invitation will be coming to you via email for you to post – technology coordinators, members of technology committees, MLTI teachers, interested teachers

Guidance Dine and Discuss – I spoke with Eric Steeves about this and he said that most secondary counselors already attend meetings with the Eastern Maine Guidance Counselors Association. So I am back to the drawing board and will look at finding a place for elementary counselors.
Other:
KAD – How many should be represented at the meeting? Jane and Bonnie will share the duties
Project Story Boost – October 13 – 17 – Train the Trainer Model – Beth will get the blurb to Ann. This has gone out to the districts.
Note: Jim gave info on Para-pro PRAXIS test – 90 question test – offered as a pencil and paper test and a 60% general knowledge questions – 30% application – Will be coming in February – fee will be $40 – still waiting for info to study
Purchase practice materials – Hire teachers to offer general knowledge sessions
North East Regional Principals Meeting - Contact Chris Beres if interested.
Compile info that we are doing – Info to our people
Resources within the schools that we could use to print – Please check within your districts as to the possibilities.
Development of Alternative Assessment
Bea McGarvey – Followup with Higher Thinking Skills – SAD 31 is doing this
