We welcomed Lois Hardy who will be representing SAD 30 and taking Kathy McAvoy’s place.

Coordinator’s Report:

ü      Math Investigations – Went very well. Over 50 attended. We will offer three more days of workshops the end of October – October 25, October 26, and October 28

ü      Math – 7 to 12 – 15 people attended. Cathy reported that it went very well and there will be a follow-up to this in January.

ü      Science – 25 attended – Page will come again in the spring. This workshop was great and the evals were very good!

ü      Jill Spencer will be here October 22nd and there are about 25 signed up for this.

ü      Janet Allen will be here November 5th and we have approximately 50 signed up at this time.

ü      Rosemary Pooler will offer Wabanaki Studies on November 15th. A blurb will go out about this asap.

ü      Wilson reading went very well. Will be getting evals from that from Cheryl.

ü      Ann asked about the NWP paying the bill for a cell phone during the school year. Ann no longer has an office and does not have access to a phone as she did previously. The steering committee agreed and Ann will purchase a phone and submit monthly bills for payment.

Webmaster’s Report:    Peter updated us on his work on the web site. He is trying to check out ways for groups of people to talk with one another over a specific topic. He will keep us posted..

Administrators’ Dinner: It was decided to have a dinner where all the administrators were invited to the River Drivers’ Restaurant and it was suggested that we ask if Janet Allen would be able to speak with the group. We can have the River Drivers’ Restaurant for November 4th and we can be downstairs, but Janet Allen will not be able to speak. We had also thought that it would be good to give all administrators a brief talk on what the NWP has been doing, etc.

Book Discussions:        We discussed purchasing some books that could be used by the NWP districts for local book discussions. We again looked at possible titles and will revisit in December

Assessment Cooperative Update:          Cathy Menard gave us an update. We discussed having Heidi or Sue come and do the workshops of Developing a Task ad Task Adaptation for the NWP. Ann will check into this.

Other:   Ann will also check into Nancy Moscone doing an afternoon session on rubric writing. Also, Mike Bisson asked about Sitton Spellling. Ronnee and Linda felt that we had the expertise within the partnership to offer a workshop on this. More to follow on this.

Please Note:     We also set the meeting dates for the rest of the year. They do vary from our usual Thursdays, due to the fact that Ann is teaching part time and some districts are having vertical meetings on Thursdays. The dates are as follows:

            December 6th   Monday

            January 10th      Monday

            March 7th         Monday

            April 11th          Monday

            May 10th          Tuesday

June 17th          Friday – End of the Year Luncheon for the Steering Committee!

Our next facilitator is Chris Beres for the December meeting.
