Ann reported that she would be attending a POP meeting March 31st and that POP money should be on its ways.

 

Visioning Process:

 

The main purpose of the meeting was for the steering committee to look at long and short term goals.

 

Major topics of discussion:

 

Data-management:

 

How can we share financial resources to purchase data-management systems for the area?

 

Concerns:                                                                   Positives:

 

State not ready – Will we end up with 2 systems?          Caribou has one. Look at other systems as NWP.

                                                                                    We need to work together regionally

                                                                                    on this.

                                                                                    Do we pay someone to develop this

for our area? Are there other schools that could take advantage of

this as well – Katahdin, Greenville?

                                                                                   

Define what data needs to be stored.     Who will access and how?

 

Should districts identify key people that should come together for a meeting to look at this topic?

Identify ways to share as the NWP

Professional Development Areas to Pursue

 

Address needs of all groups – School Boards, Superintendents, Administrators, Teachers, and Para-professionals

Survey superintendents to see what they need from the NWP

Partner with professional development organizations:

Provide professional development opportunities that address all content areas, all grade spans, utilize a multiple meeting format – set up a series of meeting throughout the year – this will be especially important for teachers at middle level to meet Highly Qualified
