Coordinator’s Report:

Maine Assessment Coop is willing to come to the NWP to do a two-day workshop on assessment design – Free! I have since spoken with Sue Card and she is available on April 28th. The majority of you have responded that this works well for you. The second day proposed was May 11th as Sue will be in the County on the 10th. This was good for everyone but Lincoln. I will double check and see if Monday, May 9th or Thursday May 12th is a possibility and run that by all of you. I have booked the parish Center for the 28th and the 11th as of now.

I will attend a POP meeting on March 18th and will report later on that – Funding!

Meeting Topics:

Donna Vigue presented a summer writing program proposal that Lincoln will be offering. Before we decide as a group whether the NWP will sponsor part of it, we need to know which partner districts might send teachers to the program. If the NWP does not sponsor part of it, SAD 67 will charge a fee for others who wish to attend. Please share the attached program agenda with your staffs and bring definite numbers to the April 11th meeting of teachers from your district that would like to attend. We need actual numbers at the April meeting to make the decision.

Ann will also contact Page Keely to see if she can return this spring as well as Janet Allen (As long as there is no possibility of snow!!!)

We also discussed Shared Reading books and how to proceed with this. Do we want to give every district monies to buy books or do we want to purchase them as a partnership and then lend them out to different districts. Another thought? Is this something for a mini-grant so that teachers can keep the books? Could we allow so much per year per district for this purpose? We will discuss at the April meeting.

We also discussed what was happening at the state level and determined, “Who knows?”

Other discussions centered on offerings for specialty people. Please poll your specialists and see if they would like to attend a one-day workshop with other specialists in our partnership. We could do them all on one day at the parish center, but let each group discuss topics pertinent to that group. I am sure that we could find someone to facilitate each group from our districts. Thoughts??

Next Meeting – April 11th – Facilitator – Peter Fisher
