Steering Committee Meeting

Minutes – March 13, 2003

Members Present:         Chris Beres, Deb Folsom, Jane Scanlon, Terry Dupont, Linda MacDonald, Brent Colbry, Mike Bisson, Alan Dickey, Ann Davis

• Chris Beres chaired the meeting as Ann Davis assumed her role as North Woods partnership Coordinator.

• Mini-grant Applications:           

SAD # 41 guidance counselors submitted a proposal for a Guidance Counselor Dine and Discuss to be held in SAD # 41. Contact person for the project is Sue Eliason from SAD # 41. Ann will contact Sue to set a date and send out flyers to the area schools.

• Bea McGarvey will be offering a workshop for teachers from the North Woods Partnership on May 14^th and 15^th at the St, Peter’s Parish Center in East Millinocket. Steering committee members are to bring numbers of teachers who will be attending the workshop to our next meeting. The administrators and NWP members will meet with her may 13^th at the River Driver’s Restaurant.

• Janet Allen will be with us on November 12^th.

• Publicity/Recognition – Ann will check with Peter and will report at next meeting.

• Partnership with University - Where do we go from here?

            Money will be available for new teachers through the University.

Laura feels we should take up Dean Cobb’s offer of a liaison. Ann will send a letter to Dean Cobb pursue his offer.
